Wellness Wednesday 

Last summer, we launched an new communications program, Wellness Wednessday, a short, monthly newsletter with tips on maintaining wellness. Wellness Wednesday covers topics ranging from Ways to Stay Connected  to Managing Stress in a Tough Economy.  This month's edition is about Resiliency - How Resilient Are You?  Check it out here-  The August 2010 edition is now on-line.  We hope you enjoy reading Wellness Wednesday!

The Mental Health Association is pleased to announce the opening of an innovative, peer run recovery center -- New Directions of Greater Rochester -- established to assist individuals who are taking an active role in their own mental wellness and recovery.   It is located at 919 Culver Road in the City of Rochester.

New Directions is a wellness center run by peers who empower one another to reach their fullest potential.  New Directions promotes participation and ownership by each individual through a valued process and includes programs such as:  computer and technology classes, exercise and nutrition classes, self-improvement courses, job search courses and discussion groups.  As a result of participating at New Directions, individuals take charge of their own lives and ae motivated to give back to the community-thus acting, in turn, as a resource in other's recovery.
