EMERGENCY
When an individual who is already receiving other mental health services requires
emergency mental health services, the individual’s outpatient provider should
be contacted for assistance. These outpatient providers often have emergency coverage or after hours support. If this provider is unavailable to assist the individual
in crisis, then other community emergency services outside of Livingston County are available
for care.
When an individual is not currently receiving mental health services and requires immediate assistance, services are available on an emergency basis. Emergency services are clinical treatments provided in an emergency unit within a hospital. Although there are no psychiatric emergency departments within Livingston County, individuals in need of these services should contact any of the following emergency departments. Any individual experiencing a crisis can also call Lifeline at 2-1-1 for support.
