Peer Support

The Mental Health Association can match you with a peer that will work with you on a one-to-one basis to help you ensure your basic needs.

A peer is someone who has experienced what you are going through.

Some of the things a resource navigator can help you with:

  • Making sure you have food
  • Access needed clothing and household items
  • Benefits issues (such as food stamps, cash assistance, social security and housing)
  • Accompany you to DHS or Social Security appointments and help with necessary paperwork
  • Help resolve utilities/phone shut-off issues
  • Landlord issues
