Peer Support
The Mental Health Association can match you with a peer that will work with you on a one-to-one basis to help you ensure your basic needs.
A peer is someone who has experienced what you are going through.
Some of the things a resource navigator can help you with:
- Making sure you have food
- Access needed clothing and household items
- Benefits issues (such as food stamps, cash assistance, social security and housing)
- Accompany you to DHS or Social Security appointments and help with necessary paperwork
- Help resolve utilities/phone shut-off issues
- Landlord issues
